The Kerr Street Mission Dinners are still taking place, although in a more limited capacity. On September 21st, we provided meals for 50 people. Each guest received a hot from the oven personal pizza, an apple, a granola bar, and some chocolate.
Kerr Street is no longer allowing us to cook in the kitchen, instead encouraging us to limit our time in the building, while still providing a hot and nutritious meal.
Julie Eldridge and Tracey Ehl are taking turns organizing and distributing the meals, which the guests seem to enjoy! The pizzas from Monastery Bakery are a big hit, and very convenient to distribute as each pizza comes in its own container.
The last meal for the 2020 year is on November 30. Thank you to all who have contributed to the Kerr Street Fund through Grace, we now have enough funds to get us through until next spring/summer.
Looking forward to the day when we can have a group gather in the kitchen at Kerr Street again, to cook a meal from scratch. The camaraderie among our members working together was one of the best parts of this initiative.
Thank you again for all of the support received to keep this important Outreach Program going during this time of great need.
