Grace members were very generous with their time, talents and wallets in 2017 as we raised funds once again for SCAW.
We focussed our efforts in May to coincide with SCAW’s annual Oakville Garage Sale which took place on our lawn and parking lot.
Grace hosted a Bake Sale table laden with scrumptious goodies baked with care and donated by many of our members. We also provided an array of breakfast and snack items for the garage sale volunteers who camped out in the church basement or showed up at 6 am to set up.
The SCAW team of volunteers including their founders, the Dryden family, were thrilled with the Garage Sale turnout, and could not believe the generosity of the Grace congregation.
But, our work was not finished. In November and December, the Grace Crafters attended workshops at Luanne Workman’s home to create crepe paper roses and our ever-popular snowmen. These creations were then sold at the St Cuthbert’s Christmas Market on December 9th and at Grace with the proceeds going to SCAW.
We are well underway this year to host and raise funds for SCAW as they plan their June 1st & 2nd Art-rageous Vendor Market Festival. If you are interested in getting involved with the 2018 campaign or working with Grace Crafters, contact Luanne Workman.
